iPad 2 Rumors: What's Coming In the Next Apple Tablet?

Oct 17th, 2011 Nova Johanson

If you are hot on the trail of the new Apple Tablet, iPad 2, you will be excited to hear some of the talk that is going on now. Since it has not been released yet, it is still speculation, but there are rumors among those in the know that the iPad 2 will include certain upgrades and a number of new features.

The original iPad from Apple had no camera. That is one of the surest things the iPad 2 will remedy. There is also talk that it could feature Retina Display technology. With a screen as big as 9.7 inches, it may be difficult for Apple to do, however. That would mean a great deal of pixels. But where there's a will, there's a way.

One sure thing is that a gyroscope is possible for the new iPad 2. Apple already has the technology and uses it in the iPhone, so why not the iPad 2? This would allow the tablet to detect motion, which will come in handy in many situations including gaming.

With so many devices offering real time video conferencing, it's not outrageous to guess that Apple will include it in the new iPad 2. Since the camera was left out of the original iPad, this technology was impossible. But with the advent of a new model, it is fairly certain that iPad 2 owners will be video calling their friends.

Other speculation includes rumors that the new iPad 2 will feature a slimmer design, redesigned back, faster processor, a choice of screen sizes, a USB port, an SD card expansion slot, and the ability to use it either in portrait or landscape mode. Who's to say? It is entirely possible that Apple could roll out an iPad that is entirely different in size and dimension than the previous version. And as far as technology, they have it all.

It is going to be interesting to see when the iPad 2 finally launches. There have also been rumors about that. Apple has every reason to create drama and excitement around the new launch. It is building up steam. When the iPad 2 does finally hit the scene (now slated for April 2011) eager crowds will line up to get a glimpse at it. So keeping that excitement brewing is in Apple's best interest. Consumers just can't wait to get their hands on the technology that is now. Yesterday's iPad is starting to look like an old clunker.
